A community interest company using the medium of motorcycling to support people with their mental health and wellbeing.
Using the medium of motorcycling - Ride to Recovery CIC exists to improve mental health, emotional wellbeing, confidence, resilience and social inclusion among individuals.
Mental health challenges can affect people from all backgrounds, having the ability to significantly impact relationships, education, employment, physical health and quality of life. Many individuals experience anxiety, depression, loneliness, trauma and stress, yet may not engage with traditional support services due to stigma, accessibility barriers or a lack of confidence. Ride to Recovery CIC was established following the recognition of the positive impact that motorcycling can have on mental wellbeing, personal development and social inclusion.
Through participation in structured motorcycling activities, individuals often experience improved focus, confidence, self-belief, social connection and a sense of achievement.
The Company uses motorcycling as a vehicle for engagement, creating opportunities for people to connect with others, develop practical and personal skills, build resilience and access positive peer support networks. By combining professional motorcycle instruction, group activities, mentoring and wellbeing-focused discussions, Ride to Recovery CIC provides a unique and accessible pathway to improved mental health and wellbeing

Back in 2022 business owner and now Ride to Recovery Director John Enticott stumbled across a CBT course at a local motorcycling school. Following the day's basic training, John caught the motorcycling bug. So much so, John continued his training and progressed to an advance rider level.
Through this journey, John discovered that being on the machine with no distractions offered release from the demanding and stressful elements of business life. This offered unmeasureable benefits to John's mental health. This experience demonstrated that not everybody is aware that they may have challenges with their mental health. Being mindful of your mental wellbeing is so important and that's the foundations John hopes to cement with Ride to Recovery.
John spent one day a week for the whole of 2025 volunteering at the same school he was taught at. This commitment developed into a DT motorcycle instructor qualification and now today, you'll find him one day a week instructing at the same school, enjoying the role and loving life!
Ride to Recovery was born through the determination of John's quest to encourage others to benefit mentally by the medium of motorcycling. The icing on the cake is that through the introduction of professional motorcycling, this organisation will make better and safer riders.
John welcomes individuals from all walks of life to join him in his quest.
